Freya’s sculptures in domestic settings offer an eerie reflection of the experience of lockdown. They explore the strangeness of existence without external stimulus, drawing on conversations with elderly people and friends who live in confined spaces. Her papier-mache creatures are made from the stuff that comes into our homes including free newspapers and cardboard delivery boxes – abandoned, forgotten and unread materials. Freya is a painter and a sculptor, living on a houseboat in London. She is about to graduate with a BA in Fine Art at City and Guilds of London Art School. She also has a BA in English Literature from the University of Oxford.
