Let's get wise about waste

This workshop explores waste, including what it is, its impact on people and the planet, why we waste, and how we can reduce waste.

Pupils will be supported to use their creativity to reduce waste and will be exposed to the global reach of the things they buy. They will also hear views of people from different generations to build understanding of how pollution and waste has changed over time and across communities.

The activities will support and inspire pupils to rethink waste and to see materials in a more circular, rather than linear, way to encourage reduced consumption, reuse and recycling. The workshop is targeted at Key Stage 2 and Second Level pupils and delivered in collaboration with the Great Science Share for Schools.
