Judith Ward
Judith was Director of Sustainability First from 2012-2017 and has been an Associate since 2005. She is a sustainable energy policy professional with long-standing practical experience of both the utility and consumer worlds. She has published extensively, with a particular focus on the energy demand side and on smart energy data. Judith also worked with National Grid (1990-2004) where her last role was a six- year period as Group Head of Public Affairs.
In her early career, she worked in policy roles with the House of Commons Environment Select Committee and the national Electricity Consumers’ Council. She has a master’s degree in Energy Resources Management.
Judith was previously an honorary fellow of the Energy Policy Group at the University of Exeter, a trustee of the Institute for European Environment Policy and part-time adviser to the UK Business Council for Sustainable Energy. She is a member of the BEIS / Ofgem Smart Systems Forum, the Ofgem Design Advisory Board for Settlement Reform, the ESO Technology Advisory Council, and the Ofgem Challenge Group for the RIIO-ED2 price control.
